BIO: Chi was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan where she lived with her family until she was 26. Although she could just as easily have pursued a career in modeling, Chi went into the biological sciences and came to the United States in 1992 to continue her education. In 1994, she graduated from the Harvard Medical School of Public Health with a Master's Degree in micro/cell biology. She married in 1996 and moved to Indiana where she received her Ph.D. at Purdue University. She is currently doing research for prevention of ovarian and gastro-intestinal cancers at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. |

In addition to all her other work, Chi is now also teaching traditional Mandarin Chinese to 4-7 year olds at the Lee-Ming Chinese School in Montgomery County, PA. and is a devoted wife, and mother of two children, Jasmine and Gawain. In what little spare time she has left, she loves to write short fiction and articles for local Chinese language newspapers. She comes to the Studio as an English-to-Chinese (classic) and Chinese (classic)-to-English document translator and as an artist of Chinese calligraphy, using traditional brushes and ink, for which she won several awards in school. |

RECENT PROJECTS: Chi is working on several projects, including a chronicle of her Grandmother's life as a girl in China and how she came to Taiwan with Chaing-Kai Shek's migration during the communist take-over of China. Chi is also working on translating a collection of old Chinese folk tales into English that will be illustrated and published through the Studio. Using her translating skills, she has also been writing and designing sales flyers for a Chinese owned bio-medical solutions company in Texas. She also recently did the Chinese translation and calligraphy for the t-shirts of one of the 2004 Philadelphia Dragon Boat Festival teams. See her section for original hand-brushed Chinese calligraphy in our Studio Shop Chi offers her writing, proofreading and translation services to and from English and traditional Chinese documents as well as Chinese calligraphy (traditional style) for the Studio.
